AI search data sources

Three read-only sources cover AI discovery and traffic: managed answer checks feed Performance → AI answers, Cloudflare verified-bot analytics feeds Performance → Crawlers, and GA4 records visits referred by AI assistants. None of them can change anything on your site.

AI answer checks

SERPclimber checks how Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude answer questions your site could be cited for. Managed sites can scan for questions mentioning their domain or ask a question directly without Search Console. Connecting Search Console adds ranking queries to the automatic question pool.

• The provider is managed by SERPclimber. There are no credentials to add.
• On a free site, AI answers lists the site's own Search Console searches from the last 28 days that read as questions or comparisons. It costs nothing, and no engine is asked until the site is managed.
• Automatic paid AI-answer checks and Authority evidence use the account's shared credits. When credits run out, saved results stay visible and new paid checks pause until credits reset or you add more.
• Ask the engines checks the engines you select. Each paid provider call is quoted in credits before it runs and counts toward the site's daily engine-check safety limit.

Cloudflare

If your domain is on Cloudflare, connecting it reveals which verified crawlers and assistants fetch your pages — the evidence server logs would show, if you had them. SERPclimber stores completed UTC days by crawler name and page. The Crawlers tab can also watch rolling 30-minute, 3-hour, and 24-hour windows directly from Cloudflare, updating about once a minute while you watch. Cloudflare may publish recent requests after a delay. Traffic is grouped into training crawlers, indexing crawlers (including Googlebot, Bingbot, and Applebot), and live assistant fetches (an assistant reading a page to answer someone right now).

Without Cloudflare, Performance → Crawlers can still check the site's public robots.txt and llms.txt files and show the crawler rules it can read. Request counts and traffic charts require Cloudflare.

• Connect Cloudflare in Settings → Connections uses Cloudflare's consent screen, or paste a scoped API token created under My Profile → API Tokens with Zone:Read and Analytics:Read.
• Access is read-only: SERPclimber lists your zones and reads analytics, nothing else.
• Works on every Cloudflare plan, including Free.
• A zone whose name matches the project domain is selected automatically.

Google Analytics (GA4)

GA4 access rides your existing Google connection — one extra permission, not a separate account. It adds sessions, engagement, key events, and revenue to Performance and Reports, and shows visits arriving from AI assistants under Referrers and Source / medium.

If you connected Google before Analytics access existed, choose Reconnect on the Google card in Settings → Connections and approve Analytics on the consent screen. The connection upgrades in place and a matching GA4 property is attached to the project automatically.
