AI search data sources

Three read-only sources cover AI discovery and traffic: managed answer checks feed Performance → AI answers, Cloudflare verified-bot analytics feeds Performance → Crawlers, and GA4 records visits referred by AI assistants. None of them can change anything on your site.

AI answer checks

SERPclimber checks how Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude answer the questions your site could be cited for. The question universe is built from the queries you already rank for in Search Console; the first scan starts on its own once queries are available.

• The provider is managed by SERPclimber. There are no credentials to add.
• Automatic paid AI-answer checks and Authority evidence draw on the project's Monthly evidence budget in Project Settings. When it is reached, saved results stay visible and checks resume the next month.
• Ask the engines questions do not draw from the evidence budget. One question can check any selection of Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude, uses one question from the plan's shared monthly allowance, and counts each selected engine toward the site's 100-engine-check daily safety limit.

Cloudflare

If your domain is on Cloudflare, connecting it reveals which verified crawlers and assistants fetch your pages — the evidence server logs would show, if you had them. SERPclimber stores daily traffic by crawler name and page, and groups it into training crawlers, indexing crawlers (including Googlebot, Bingbot, and Applebot), and live assistant fetches (an assistant reading a page to answer someone right now).

• Connect Cloudflare in Settings → Integrations uses Cloudflare's consent screen, or paste a scoped API token created under My Profile → API Tokens with Zone:Read and Analytics:Read.
• Access is read-only: SERPclimber lists your zones and reads analytics, nothing else.
• Works on every Cloudflare plan, including Free.
• A zone whose name matches the project domain is selected automatically.

Google Analytics (GA4)

GA4 access rides your existing Google connection — one extra permission, not a separate account. It adds sessions, engagement, key events, and revenue to Performance and Reports, and shows visits arriving from AI assistants under Referrers and Source / medium.

If you connected Google before Analytics access existed, choose Reconnect on the Google card in Settings → Integrations and approve Analytics on the consent screen. The connection upgrades in place and a matching GA4 property is attached to the project automatically.
