Conversations
The conversation list, tabs and the pinned pane, History, and the rename, pin, archive, delete, copy link, and regenerate title actions.
Conversations are kept for as long as you want them. This page covers where they appear, how to pin one beside your work, and how to manage them.
The conversation list
On the chat page the sidebar lists conversations in three groups: Pinned (newest pin first), Recent (most recently active first), and Archived (most recently archived first). Choose New chat at the top of the list to start another. A title is generated from the first exchange; until then the row shows a placeholder.
The History button in a conversation's header opens the same list as a popover with search-as-you-type over titles and previews. It is available on the chat page and in the pinned pane, so you can switch conversations without leaving the page you are on.
Tabs and the pinned pane
Every page you open — conversations included — becomes a tab in the strip at the top of the workspace. Drag a tab to reorder it; choose its close button to remove it; View → Close all tabs clears the strip.
Drag a tab to the right edge of the workspace to pin it. The pinned pane opens beside the primary page with its own header and navigation, and it stays while you move through the rest of the workspace. Drag the divider to resize it, and drag the pinned tab back into the strip — or choose its return button — to unpin it. Only one tab is pinned at a time; pinning another swaps it.
A conversation in the pinned pane shows a compact header with the title, History, and the ⋯ menu; choose Expand conversation to open it on the chat page instead.
Explain with AI buttons always open in the pinned pane, so the explanation sits next to the card it describes.
Managing a conversation
The ⋯ menu in a conversation header offers:
- Rename — edit the title in place. Press Enter to save or Escape to cancel.
- Pin / Unpin — keep the conversation at the top of the list.
- Regenerate title — write a new title from the conversation so far. Send a message first if the conversation is empty.
- Copy link — copy the conversation's address to share with a teammate who has access.
- Archive / Restore — move the conversation out of Recent without deleting it. Archived conversations stay readable and searchable.
- Delete — remove the conversation permanently after confirmation. Its messages cannot be recovered.
Drafts and history
An unsent message is kept per conversation, so switching tabs does not lose it. Long conversations load their earlier messages on demand with Load earlier messages. Charts in older turns remain the snapshot they were when drawn; product cards such as tasks resolve their current state when reopened.
Keyboard
- ⌘B (Ctrl+B) toggles the sidebar.
- Enter sends; Shift+Enter adds a line. While a response is streaming, Enter asks whether to stop it and send the new message; Stop generating stops it without sending.
