What AI Visibility does

There is no position 3 in an AI answer

Search is splitting. A growing share of questions never produce a list of ten blue links — they produce a paragraph that cites two or three sources. In that world the only ranking that exists is binary: you were cited, or you were not.

Rank trackers cannot see this. They watch a keyword and report a position, and an AI answer has neither. So the usual toolkit reports that everything is fine while a competitor becomes the source ChatGPT quotes for your category.

Questions, engines, and who got the citation

AI visibility tracks the questions people actually ask about your space across five answer engines, and records what each one said: whether you were cited and in what position, whether a competitor was cited instead, or whether nobody relevant was cited at all — which is the opening.

The questions are discovered from your own Search Console data rather than typed into a watch-list, so coverage follows what your site is genuinely about instead of what you remembered to add.
